Take me out of the ballpark
Happiness is: baseball season ending. The guys had fun – Eli hit a line drive right to the fence once and we discovered that Jake doubles well as a catcher and first baseman (that boy can catch a ball!). Only 11 months left until all three are playing ball. Wahhh, somebody hold me.
I just got back from a three day camping trip with a longtime friend of mine. So very good to see him but also just as well that we don’t see each other much – I had forgotten what a hangover feels like. A whole bunch of friends and his family met for an annual event on the Big Piney River. Saturday we did a 7.1 mile float trip that was a lot of fun. I was very sad to leave on Sunday (time sure flies when you are laughing).
Lots of things coming up –
Fourth of July plans to see the fireworks over the Mississippi River (at Cape Girardeau)
First Annual Cobden Campout – nine hundred little boys in tents on my field.
Float trip on the Current River in Missouri / camping trip with the boys and grandparents. Tubing on a river is one of the few things my kids have not done yet and they were plenty mad that I got to go without them last weekend.

Hey, what happened to May?
I just realized how long it has been since I last posted. !?*&?! Little League - major time suck. Right now, there are so many conflicts with Jake's and Eli's team schedules that their dad and I often have to go in different directions. I am already whining about what it will be like with THREE boys in baseball next season. Wahhhhh.
I bought a house. (what, you thought I already did that eons ago?) I leased this house for the first six months until I got all my overseas moving and retiring done. I can honestly say that I am completely happy with my choice. The area is just beautiful. My property is so gorgeous that I bought a park bench to sit and just look. I am going to have to take a few more pictures of the granite wall behind my house. It is amazing.
Oh and I earned a new title. My mortgage papers say: Deborah Lynn Codding, An Unmarried Woman. I rather like it. I worked hard to earn that title and think that it should be on a t-shirt. I chortled and pointed when the title signing lady reached that page. Can you imagine? I bet there are zero loans that say: John Doe, An Unmarried Man.
Question: You know the inside of your eyelid where you put black eyeliner in the 80's? How would you go about removing a tick from there on a cat (mine)? Gah-ross.
