I am enjoying Seth so much these days.
He has always been a joy but he is now squarely into my very favorite age. It seems like he learns a new trick every day. He doesn't miss a thing.
- Yesterday, I woke up (actually sat bolt upright) to the sounds of "ah, ooh, eeeeeee, DOH! He was sitting on the foot of our bed throwing a couple of toys off. He loves for me to count and then yell GO! and rip him off the bed as though he has jumped. So in my sleep, I thought that he was jumping LOL.
- When told to "tickle the baby", he pulls up his shirt and pokes his own belly button.
- He orders the dog into the laundry room when the doorbell rings (the dog goes crazy)...and the dog goes.
- He will stand for 15 minutes on a stool in front of the refridgerator, arranging and rearranging the refridgerator magnets.
- He colors while lying on the floor like a teenager writing a love letter.
- He has become incredibly snuggley and will sit on my lap while I am watching tv and hold my hand.
- He offers to scratch my back (and does a damn fine job IMO).
- He expertly turns on the coffee pot, pushes elevator buttons and flips light switches. He also expertly turns on and off the tv and vcr, usually when we least want him to.
- He has an opinion now is not afraid to express it. I asked him to come to me so I could put on his shoes as he was walking out of the patio door. He turned and said Nooooo, with a very serious face.
- He threw his first temper tantrum a couple of weeks ago. The day I had his mullet cut off (not during the haircut). I think maybe there is a link?
Anyway, just thought I would share. I am feeling so much more adjusted as a parent suddenly. My boys are such good people. They may fight and whine (and so do I) but they constantly amaze me with what they know/can do. I read at bedtime and stop here and there to spot check comprehension. Eli is the master of vocabulary and trivia! He is so quick to come up with possible next scenes and is always dead on. Both he and Jake are really amazing me with their ability to draw. My family is riddled with artists but the art gene somehow skipped me. I always wanted to be able to draw. It makes me so happy to see that they are already so expressive.
I am so proud to be these guys mom! How did I get so lucky?
My computer is fixed now but I still have to reinstall all of the various programs, including the one that allows me to make those fancy photo pages. Hopefull within a week or so, I will have them ready. In the meantime, here is what the guys looked like a couple of months ago.
