Take me out of the ballpark
Happiness is: baseball season ending. The guys had fun – Eli hit a line drive right to the fence once and we discovered that Jake doubles well as a catcher and first baseman (that boy can catch a ball!). Only 11 months left until all three are playing ball. Wahhh, somebody hold me.
I just got back from a three day camping trip with a longtime friend of mine. So very good to see him but also just as well that we don’t see each other much – I had forgotten what a hangover feels like. A whole bunch of friends and his family met for an annual event on the Big Piney River. Saturday we did a 7.1 mile float trip that was a lot of fun. I was very sad to leave on Sunday (time sure flies when you are laughing).
Lots of things coming up –
Fourth of July plans to see the fireworks over the Mississippi River (at Cape Girardeau)
First Annual Cobden Campout – nine hundred little boys in tents on my field.
Float trip on the Current River in Missouri / camping trip with the boys and grandparents. Tubing on a river is one of the few things my kids have not done yet and they were plenty mad that I got to go without them last weekend.

Oh Lordy, I remember Little League days!! My son was on one team at City Beach, My husband coached another team at City Beach, My daughter umpired the games at Cresent Harbor, and I was the Senior League Manager at the High School and the Jr. High. That made for a really long season. OH and I ran the concession stand at City Beach. It is fun to sit and watch now though.
