Forced Posting

Hello, I am still here! We have been extremely busy lately which means that my computer time has been short lately. Here is the short list of things we have done. Many of these things have pictures associated, which I have to stop procrastinating and put into the album.

A friend of mine and I, took our children on a train trip up to the gorgeous city of Taormina (there are already pictures in the album of this city).

The boys and I set up our tent at the housing playground area and spent the night tending to a pig that had to cook over 27 hours. This was a lot more fun than it sounds, much laughter, much rain, much, much mud. And a wee bit of lemoncello.

Built (okay so it was the crappy pressboard kind) two bookcases and a dresser for the boys’ rooms.

Went through a change in the Commanding Officer of my hospital (really loved the old one but looks like we will also like the new one).

Knitted two baby sweaters and four mini socks (size of pinky finger – just for fun).

Survived first day back to school and officially became a school bus, ferrying six kids to school (neighbor brings them home) so that the chaotic school bus can be avoided.

Completed a HUGE report for work and presented it twice (more to come) which resulted in the implementation of three new policies in our hospital.

Decided once and for all to retire November 2005 and started actively looking for property.

HAH! Did you catch that? I will have many more details in the months to come but the short story is that I took my blinders off (or rather had them rudely ripped from me) regarding my role in the Navy and realized that I have to put my family first. So if you check the main page of this blog and not just the link from the email, you will see the retirement countdown once again. I am very excited about it (okay and a lot scared). I hope to continue to travel as much as I have been doing but it looks like the rest of my stay in Italy will be colored by whether or not I am making mortgage payments on my very first house!

Now as a total side note, to you Floridians out there, I hope you came through hurricane Jeanne okay. I haven’t had a chance to call anyone there since it moved through (damn the time difference!). It probably isn’t so much as the actual hurricane as it is the tornadoes that follow for a few days after the storm. See. Here is yet another reason for y’all to move to higher ground!

Glad to hear you decided to go ahead and retire. Shawna is saving her money so she can come to see you hopefully in June or July of next year. Randy's fighting it,he's worried about her going so far away by herself. But she says she's going ,no matter what.

Two of my favorite beadmakers are teaching a glass class next year in Sept in Tuscany for a week. I WANT TO GO!!!!!! BOO WHOOOO!!! Feel sorry for me!!!!!....LMBO!!! oh well maybe they will do it again in a couple of years.
Shawna and I had a FUN time 2 weeks ago in Orlando at our first class. Even though he taught alot of stuff we already knew,he was a lot of fun and I got to use a bobcat torch which is the oxy/propane mix torch that is 10 times faster and better than my hothead torch. It was very hard coming back to mine,LOL. Now not only am I trying to get up money for a kiln ,but a bobcat too.

The only thing we are doing without from Jeanne is cable. So far we have gotten lucky everytime. But I sure am tIRED of staying in the house for a couple of days at a time because of the raining,no school days. The kids drive me crazy being stuck in the house for a couple of days at a time ,fighting constantly, having to watch movies one after the other,AAAAHHHHH!!!!!

But other than that we are doing good....LOL!

Debbie Dear!!What happened to title and all that additional money and recognition/status? Ah hah, thought it over and chose to be the free and independent woman you are!!Whatever you decide am sure it will work for you because you will make it work. Hurricanes over and for us no major..like hit the house or blow off the screened in decks etc. lots of tree debris both at 19A and Lake Dora. Mount Dora took a real beating with all our beautiful old big trees.
It will take years to recoup! and at least a year to clean it all up! All safe. Suzanne called me this A.M. and she also is O.K. other than yard trash etc. The facility sent her out on a special team to another facility where more damage was possible and possible evacuation of prisoners could occur. Their team was there for extra security etc. Anyway all O.K. Your Dad's house is still standing but lots of tree damage etc.He has to finish his art seaso tours before he can come down and do anything about anything there. All in my family O.K. Love hearing about your trips! Much love to all. Gramma Belva
