Picasso time
I got the babajoes woolpack last week to make this wall hanging that should be FANTASTIC if all is right in the felting universe. It is a picasso nude knockoff. I cast it on last night, which means I am cheating on my tanks again. They don't seem to mind but I sure feel guilty LOL.
I am extremely happy with it so far. I am about 5% in and am patting myself on the back for my perfect color matching. I am worried about the felting part though. I am doubling the height part of the chart but not the width I don't want her to be squished by the felting, LOL. I figure that even if it only shrinks a third, she should still be voluptuous. We will see. I decided to work the chart with her standing up rather than the reclining (wide) way. I am trying to figure in all the felting shrinkage problems. If this works out, I will try my hand at writing my own chart of Picasso's Blue Nude, which has long, long been a favorite of mine. I have plenty of Picasso nudes to choose from, which means that my bedroom may actually get a theme hahahahahahaha.
By the way, I am loving the woolpak. Very nice. Oh and knitting on 11 straights blows big time. Wah oh wah I want my sleek circs back. I could always convert over to the Denise 11's but I figured the bobbins would be a pain in the arse - it is bad enough trying to keep them untangled now. It probably wouldn't be such a big deal except that this is bulky yarn on a big area. I have four bobbins and two balls going on. I am working on the bottom part where there isn't much happening - I am dying to get to the fifty percent mark where things get fun.

Prepare to be JEALOUS!
Yesterday was my birthday and I got a herd of sheep. SCORE! Be sure to click on the photo in the album to see them close up.
I also finished my niece's bag yesterday. It turned out very, very cute. I am not a purse carrier but have fallen in love making them LOL. They are instant gratification. The Cascade 220 felts amazingly well. A pox on Noro. Bah. After seeing Wendy's faboo work on purses lately, I was inspired to line this bag. Sewing is not my favorite thing especially when it is by hand. I do not even own a sewing machine. The fabric is kind of a taffeta / rayon / satin material that I got when I went to the market a few weeks ago. A piece the size of a twin sheet cost 2 euro which is about $2.50 in U.S.

Ebay Sale: Check out the stitch markers
My sister and niece are beginning to sell! Woohoo! My niece has put up three stitch markers (as a group) as a test run on Ebay. These have not been tempered in a kiln but should be fine for the average knitter (it is only an issue for extreme temperature changes). We have to fine tune how they are listed though, she is listing them under glass beads and not knitting. I wonder if there is a way to cross list them?
Anyway, one other thing my sister needs help with is naming her fledgling business. Anyone want to make suggestions for her? It shouldn't be too cutesy and should be more broad than just stitch markers, as she will be selling glass beads for nonknitting purposes (does that exist? LOL).
Insect stitch markers on Ebay!
Not everyone left an email address for me to contact them about the stitch markers so in the future, I will notify people by posting the new auctions on my blog. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to enter your email address in the notify list to the left of this post (be sure you are on the main screen of my blog). That way when I post a new entry, you will be notified. If you decide later that you don't want to be on that list just send me an email to take your address off.

They're Here, They're Here!!!
I got the box from my sister today with the stitch markers. I restrained myself until I got into my car but then tore into the box with abandon. Only to discover the world's best tape job. DAMNIT! The keys were already in the ignition and the only thing around was my favorite purple ballpoint pen. I must have looked like a lunatic poking holes in the tape and muttering under my breath. Whew, finally! I open the box and what do I find? ANOTHER TAPED UP BOX! AHHHHHHHHHHHH. Eh hem. Okay. Poke, poke, poke with the ballpoint pen. Excellent, now where are they? Hey, what's this? ANOTHER TAPED UP BOX! (Just so you don't think I am kidding, I put a picture in the album below) At this point, I was rolling with laughter. These stitch markers were traveling in high comfort. I get the box open while uttering a prayer to the Tape Goddess. WooHoo, no more boxes but now there were tiny little packets of bubble wrap protecting each fish. Talk about delayed gratification.
Anyhow, as you have already guessed, the stitch markers are much, much (MUCH, MUCH) cooler in person. I put a bunch of pictures of them in the photo album. I put them on my Italian T-shirt that has been languishing in the bottom of my WIP basket (which, by the way, was also a gift from my sister!). Of course, I would never use stitch markers every ten stitches because it makes the WIP too heavy and jangley but my goal was to show them in action. I tried to pick a favorite but couldn't. I will say that I am partial to the fishies with big red lips, LOL.
