I am becoming WIPped (knitting humor, sorry)
First of all. Ding dong the mouse is dead. It showed up on my kitchen counter a few days ago (eww eww eww - I have bleached everything).
Next, I went Christmas shopping online. Patternworks rocks! What fast service. I decided to get my nine year old a beginner kid knitting kit. He has asked me a couple of times to help him learn. We shall see. I also got corking kits for both the nine year old and the almost-seven year old along with the book on corking. I remember doing this as a kid - except mine was homemade from nails and a wooden spool!
Christina (CC) on TKGA found a really cute pattern for a Christmas tree hat with elf socks that I will make for my friend who is due in a couple of weeks. I got the box from Patternworks today with the green, red and yellow yarn that I got on sale (yah, I really needed MORE yarn). While I was contemplating it, I decided I should make ALL the babies due around Christmas time, at least the hat. I am a labor and delivery nurse at a tiny, tiny military hospital in Sicily. The total number of hats will not be more than five! Totally do-able {insert maniacal laughter}.
Oh, and I decided to turn the scarf into a key hole scarf, just in case it is on the short side but so far it seems to be going well. I have about 10 inches done despite this being the craziest last two weeks.
Back to knitting!

Total nonpost, sorry
Well, I am nearly back up to where I was on that darn scarf. No hint of the mouse after I left some nummy stuff under the secret lining of the couch (when the baby and dog were not looking). I have to measure Eli for his sweater. I think I am going to break my one WIP (work in progress) rule and have two going. I am decidedly burned out on the scarf.
Anyway, CC at TKGA posted a link to the blog of a really neat knitter. His blog can be found at Ravings from a Danish City at Night

How much Valium do you think it will take?
I think this scarf was not meant to be. I was doing the stitch below but it turned out to be really really too loose, so I ripped it all out and started over using knit only rows. It was looking fab. Oh so soft and heathery. I had about 10 or 12 inches done. I normally keep my current project in a gallon-sized ziploc so it is ultra portable. Often, I leave it on the back of the couch in my living room (where baby cannot see it). Today, I threw it into the diaper/backpack for my errands. Seth fell asleep on the way home, so I decided to just sit in the driveway and knit while listening to my new Norah Jones (who could qualify as valium). I pull out my bag... I stretch out my knitting... And I lost my freaking mind.
(SORRY there used to be a pic of a WIP with a large hole eaten out of it - don't know where it went)
I have known that I have had a mouse for about a month now but have been undecided what to do. I can't find mouse traps here in Italy - they only sell poison. You know the kind that makes you bleed internally and then go die somewhere dark and quiet until the owners of the house are forced to track down the smell? That kind. I have a 23 month old baby and a dog. Both of whom, I am sure would be happy to eat the yummy stuff. I don't know what I will do but that little mouse's ass is MINE.
Insert handwringing. Somebody rub my back while I rip it out.
