I promise I have been making progress

Lookie - my percent bar is now at 40% on the Picasso! Wooo go me! Some thoughts about this project:

1. It is getting freaking HUGE. I am getting scared. I know that really big stuff may not felt evenly. Gulp.
2. Straight needles suck.
3. Ditto on large round bobbin thingys.
4. Static page markers RULE, on the other hand.
5. So do those little flat bobbins that look like embroidery floss holders. LOVE THEM, would marry them if it was allowed. Errr, um no, Mr. Bush would never allow that.
6. Getting nervous about felting intarsia too. I just had a sickening dawning that the places where I carried the yarn three or four stitches are going to pull in and become three dimensional because the yarn shrinks up and down. Which is great and I actually planned for it by doubling the height only (that is why she will look so stretched out prefelting). But I forgot that carrying the yarn means that now the "up and down" part of the yarn is going sideways. I am not totally dejected about this though, I think a little three-D effect on a wall hanging would actually be cool. Not so much for a sweater though.

Anyway, here is the current status: (the link takes you to the photo album, where the picture is bigger)

Heyyyyy making progress! Peeked in to check up on the Picasso actually ;) Very cool!If you are worried about the carries just twist the yarn once while you carry it every 2 sts or so. Or is that what you're doing now? Haven't tried to felt intarsia yet so waiting for you to do it! Yay! Saturday is almost here!

Only the Libertarian party is for proper marriage between humans and bobbins, so long as the bobbins consent. Democrats favour the classic seperate-but-equal "civil unions" but not marriage and Republicans see the bobbin group sex akin to pedophilia. ('Course, they loiter around to speak against it while watching....)

(Hope I insulted both major parties.)

WOW!!! what you're doing is absolutely amazing!!!! i can't wait to see it done! incorporating art and knitting is always good (i'm a studio art major- i told my professor i wanted to use knitting as my medium for a project, but he shot it down because i didn't have a good 'explanation' as to what knitting means..or some art mumbo jumbo like that)

anyway, love it!
